Musician Now - Studio Policies

Tuition: The Tuition Plan for music lessons and classes is calculated on a monthly basis. This ensures that students receive consistent lessons every month and parents have a predictable payment schedule according to the number of lessons in the month. Some months have 4 scheduled weeks, while other months have 5 or less. 

Tuition is not averaged across the year. 

We use MyMusicStaff as our Invoice system and it will calculate how many lessons your child will have in that month. 

Enrollment Fees: Enrollment Fees help with the cost of the books and materials that your child will use in their lessons and classes and for their placement in our lessons and classes. Enrollment Fees not paid by September 8th will be put on our waitlist. This is not refundable. 

• $35 per student, up to $100 for a family of 3 or more.

Students are responsible for attending all lessons/classes during their scheduled lesson time, whether remotely or in person. All students are expected to arrive on time, prepared for instruction, and with the necessary materials. If a student arrives late, the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time.

If a student misses a lesson or class, they have 30 days to complete a make-up lesson/class. After this period, the make-up credit will be forfeited. Missed lessons are not eligible for refunds or credits toward the following month unless of a true emergency and notified to our Music Director. Make-Up Credits will be in MyMusicStaff and parents can schedule a lesson through there or via email.

Make Up Lessons will either be conducted by the students Music Instructor, the Music Director of the studio, or a Substitute Music Instructor.

A student is considered tardy if they arrive after 5 minutes of their scheduled lessons. Lesson times will still end at the original lesson time. 

If a student must miss a class or lesson, please cancel the lesson/class through the Parent Portal on our website (best), email us at office@musiciannow.com, or call/text us at 603-794-0114. Absences not properly reported will be classified as no-shows.

Students who fail to attend their scheduled lesson/class without prior notice will be considered a no-show. No-shows are not eligible for rescheduling unless there is a documented true emergency. After 3 no shows in a span of 2 months, the Music Director will contact the parent about continuing lessons.

We understand that life changes can happen. If you need to reschedule a lesson or change the day and time, please email us to request the change as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate.

 For children under the age of 6, a parent or guardian is required to remain onsite during the lesson/class. Parents or guardians may either attend the lesson with their child or wait in the designated waiting area.

Musician Now does not follow the regular school calendar. However, we will be closed during the following holidays and school vacation weeks in 2026-2027:

• Labor Day: September 7th, 2026
• Thanksgiving Break: November 20th - 27th, 2026
• Christmas Break: December 20th - 26th, 2026
• New Years Break: December 27th - January 3rd, 2027
• February Vacation: February 21st - 28th, 2027
• April Vacation: April 25th - May 2nd, 2027
• Memorial Day: May 31st, 2027

Musician Now may close due to unsafe weather or emergency conditions. As a general guideline, the studio may close when schools in the Laconia, Belmont, or Gilford areas are closed.

Families will be notified through:

• The Parent Portal in My Music Staff
• Text message notifications
• Email Notification
• Social Media Pages: Facebook and Instagram

Our goal is to make closure decisions by 10:00 AM whenever possible.

Students who are sick should remain home from lessons/classes and may request a make up lesson.

Students who arrive visibly ill, excessively fatigued, feverish, or unable to participate appropriately may be sent home.

Students are expected to:

• Respect teachers, classmates, instruments, and studio property
• Follow classroom expectations
• Arrive prepared for lessons/classes

Musician Now reserves the right to dismiss students for repeated disruptive behavior, unsafe conduct, refusal to cooperate, or destruction of property.

Parents/guardians remain responsible for supervising children outside of scheduled lesson/class times unless otherwise approved by Musician Now staff.

Musician Now may photograph or video record lessons, classes, recitals, camps, and studio activities for promotional and educational purposes with the permission of families during enrollment. We do not reveal students names unless with permission from the family. 

Our Concert Band and String Ensemble students are required to participate in our once a month Band Rehearsals, once a month, on Fridays. The days and times for these rehearsals will be in the Music Studio Welcome Packet.

The enrollment fee covers the cost of books and materials for the student. If a student forgets their book or music and new music needs to be printed, a $2 fee will be added to the account after notifying the parent/guardian.

We want all parents/guardians to know exactly what their child has been learning at our Music Studio through our practice papers and class reports. We send out emails to parents of the lesson notes that the student has learned. It is good for parents to read it and understand the progress of your child. We will also send out any recordings that students need to practice at home. Students also will be receiving a Practice Book where there is written documentation of what the student has learned, and the practice days and times they are recording.

Families Paying by Card/ACH:

• Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Invoices will be on your Parent Portal in MyMusicStaff.
• All Debit or Credit cards will be on AUTOPAY. If a payment is declined, we will attempt to process it again within one day. 
• We will NOT be accepting cash or checks this year.
• Paying by card will incur a 3% fee. 
• For ACH Bank Transfers, there are no fees.
• Payments not received by the 5th will incur a $10 late fee.

Families Using EFA/ESA/ETC:

• Invoices will be sent on the 25th of each month to allow timely submission to ClassWallet. Invoices will be sent via MyMusicStaff. Please download and submit them as soon as possible. 
• Any invoice not received by the 5th of the month will incur a $10 late fee, which will be added to your next invoice. 
• Payment options: monthly, quarterly (3 months), or full 9-month payment.

We understand it may be time for students to no longer take lessons or classes at Musician Now. Our Resignation Policy is for parents to email us before the 30th of the month to resign from our music studio so that the invoice will not be charged. If the parent resigns after the 1st of the month and the invoice has been charged, there will be no refunds unless it is a true emergency for a refund. Otherwise the student needs to attend the lessons paid for that month.

Summer Programs are a fun time for students to continue their music education in a relaxed environment. Here are the programs we will be offering:

• Mini Musician (Ages 5 and 6)
• Music Explorers (Ages 7-11)
• Piano Labs (Ages 7+)
• Private Lessons
• Summer Music Camps

Our Summer Program Schedules will be as follows:

• Tuesday through Thursdays from 9am - 1pm and 3pm - 7pm.

Summer Camps will be 4 day camps: Monday through Thursday from 9am to 1pm. Dates will be announced in January 2027.
