The Homeschool Concert Band is designed to provide students with a meaningful and rewarding musical experience. Every member of the ensemble plays an important role in the success of the group, and we ask both students and parents to make a commitment to the program for the entire academic year.

Expectations for Students

Students enrolled in the program are expected to:

  • Attend all scheduled section rehearsals, full ensemble rehearsals, performances, and special events.
  • Arrive on time and fully prepared for class.
  • Bring all required materials, including instruments, books, music, pencils, and accessories.
  • Practice consistently at home between rehearsals.
  • Demonstrate respect toward instructors, fellow students, instruments, equipment, and studio property.
  • Participate fully in rehearsals and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Work cooperatively with fellow musicians while contributing to the success of the ensemble.
  • Notify the studio as soon as possible if an absence is unavoidable.

Expectations for Parents

Parents play an essential role in helping students develop strong practice habits and achieve success. Parents are expected to:

  • Ensure that students arrive on time and are prepared for rehearsals and performances.
  • Encourage consistent practice at home.
  • Maintain instruments in proper working condition.
  • Purchase all required books, materials, accessories, and supplies.
  • Review all emails, schedules, announcements, and studio communications.
  • Notify the studio promptly regarding absences or schedule changes.
  • Support their child's commitment to the ensemble throughout the school year.
  • Ensure that tuition payments are made according to the established payment schedule.

The Homeschool Concert Band is not designed as a drop-in activity. Enrollment represents a commitment to the entire academic year and to every member of the ensemble.

Every student plays an important role in the success of the group. Because each musician contributes to the ensemble as a whole, regular attendance, consistent practice, and participation in rehearsals and performances are essential.

Tuition is based upon enrollment in the program rather than attendance.

Refunds, credits, or reductions in tuition cannot be provided for missed rehearsals, performances, or other scheduled activities. While we understand that illnesses, family emergencies, and unexpected situations may occur, we ask families to recognize that consistent participation is essential to the success of every member of the ensemble. We may provide make up lessons if needed upon the availability of our music instructor.

All students are expected to participate in both the fall and spring semesters. Families should carefully consider other activities and scheduling commitments before enrolling. A calendar will be given to the parents before classes start.

Families are responsible for providing the following:

  • An instrument in good working condition
  • A music stand for home practice
  • Instrument accessories and maintenance supplies
  • Performance attire, if required (Black dress or black  or white dress shirt with black dress bottoms)

Method books and sheet music will be provided on the first day of lessons. If the books or sheet music are missing or damaged, parents will have to pay for materials.

Private lessons are encouraged but are not required for participation in the Homeschool Concert Band. Students seeking additional instruction may enroll in private lessons to strengthen their technique, improve performance skills, and receive individualized support.
